Windsor Police, Optimist Club Host Community Bike Night June 9

Kids riding bike at Bike Night event 2019

Windsor Bike Night is back for 2021, with an intent to inform and bring awareness to the importance of bicycle safety. According to Officer Andrew Stanger, “Traditionally, we see more bicycle-related accidents during summer months so educating our youth to be bike-safe, is incredibly important. We want to educate our children by offering them a fun and free family event that they can attend.”

The annual Windsor Bike Night will take place on Wednesday, June 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Boardwalk Park, 100 N. 5th St. Hosted by the Windsor Police Department and the Windsor Optimist Club, the evening kicks off with a family-friendly bike parade around Windsor Lake at 6:15 p.m. led by a bicycle patrol officer. After the parade, kids 12 years old and younger are invited to visit bicycle safety stations, participate in an obstacle course, and check out the bike helmet giveaways and get their bike checked for safety.

Activities and giveaways during this free event will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
