On Monday, February 24, at 1:48 a.m., Windsor shooting suspect Kaman Morgan turned himself into Weld County authorities and was booked into the Weld County Jail thereafter. He is no longer considered a risk to the public. In addition to the on-going investigation, Windsor Police are actively working in cooperation with the Weld County District Attorney’s Office to formalize charges. As part of the investigation, officers were searching for—and located—a dark-colored Nissan Maxima tied to the suspect.

“The Windsor Police Department would like to thank the public for their cooperation. A public tip led us to the location of the vehicle,” said Commander Aaron Lopez.

Regarding the victim, the Weld County Coroner’s Office will release further information.

Anyone with information about this case are being asked to contact Commander Robert Holt of the Windsor Police Department at 970-674-6416. Additional details about pending charges and the suspect are not available at this time.

Please Note: An earlier release indicated the suspect’s age was 34. It is actually 35. Another inaccuracy was a mis-typed phone number to the Windsor Police Department. Instead of 647-6400 the number should have read 970-674-6400 but it has since been changed to Commander Holt’s direct office line at 970-674-6416.
