The State of Colorado requires a certified inspector or law enforcement agency to inspect the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the vehicle to ensure it matches the vehicle’s registration or title document.
VIN verification is generally required when attempting to register a vehicle with an out-of-state title, if the vehicle was purchased outside the state of Colorado, or if the vehicle hasn’t been registered for long periods of time.
VIN Verification Hours
No appointment necessary. VIN verification is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
